Hearing these wonderful words from such a wonderful person seriously makes me want to cry. Thank you so much Steph, I can't even tell you how much it means to me:)
"I can't stop looking at the photos you took. After three years together, I really needed these pictures! I can see how much you love what you do just by looking at your photos. Amazing work. I can't wait for you to capture more of our moments. Thank you! I'm still blown away that you caught our expressions when I said 'Smile for our engagement picture'...I laugh every time I look at those pics! Now that's talent!
And I love your blogs! They say a picture is worth a thousand words.. well holy! You take a beautiful picture and then come up with a thousand words too! Simply amazing." -Stephanie
This is the picture she mentioned:)

Duluth Bridal Show
Well it's here and gone and boy was the 2012 Duluth Bridal Show an experience! Amanda had me up at 5:00 a.m. and we were to the DECC by 6:00...lucky for us both I'm super speedy in the morning when I need to be and lucky that Amanda was so addament on getting there early. We were one of the firsts there, got a cart to haul our stuff in with no problem and a great parking spot right up front so packing up was a breeze.
It took us around 2 hours to set up. We both wished we would have had more table space but I think we made the best of what we had and made it work.
The first hour was a little slow but when the brides finally made it to our room, which was the last room, they came steady for the rest of the day.
When I saw the first rush of people I clammed up which I wasn't too surprised about but thankfully when Amanda gets nervous she talks. We had a great system down...I handed out flowers and she talked.
By the end of the day we were tired, sore and very hungry but our spirits were high and overall we felt pretty good about how the day went. It only took us 30 minutes to break down, pack up, and get on the road.
We met some great brides and some wonderful vendors so all in all the 2012 DBS was a success!!!

Once again I don't know what I would have done without Amanda. Click HERE to find her page. She is the best at her job on the whole North Shore!

Testimonial: Amanda
Doing a section for testimonials has been on my to-do list for a long time and I figured what better time then right before the Duluth Bridal Show! Not only that I'm stalling getting ready:) (I still have to pack up my stuff and we're leaving for Duluth in a matter of hours)
I find it fitting that the first testimonial is from the one and only Amanda from Princess Pine Events and Design.
"I have worked with Lesli of Falon Photography as both an attendant in a wedding and as an assistant on a few of her shoots. She not only takes great pictures but works hard to give her clients exactly what they are looking for. She listens to what the client wants, makes suggestions as to what she feels would work well for each situation and isn't afraid to climb great heights to get a great picture. Not only are you hiring a fabulous photographer you are hiring someone with a lot of compassion and who truly loves the work that she does." -Amanda

Jess and Jared
Before I post any pictures I wanted to do a little disclaimer...
The contracted photographer for this wedding was Jennifer Sime of Jennifer Sime Photography. I, Lesli Higgins of Falon Photography, was brought in as a second shooter by Jenn. I was aloud to edit and use the pictures that I took for advertising and display purposes.
Working with Jenn of Jennifer Sime Photography was a lot of fun and great practice and exposure for me. One of the best parts of the whole thing was that the wedding was for a childhood friend of my husbands, and an extremely talented local photographer Jess of Oullis Photography. I am proud to now be able to call her my friend.
To top it all off it was on my 6th wedding anniversary at the same place where we had our reception, Grand Portage Lodge and Casino. It was like a strange 'full circle' moment for me I guess you could say.
Thank you all for letting me take part in such a wonderful day!

December Lutsen Bridal Show
The December 2011 Lutsen Resort Bridal Show was, if I'm being totally honest, a little underwhelming. BUT I got the chance to set up my own table. Lucky for me my table was right next to Amanda (Princess Pine Events and Design) so she could fix it for me:)
I'm looking forward to the next two because I know that they can only be better than the last:)!

Top 20 Shots of 2011
This was a hard post for me. I absolutely could not narrow it down to 10 so I decided to do 20 and even that was hard to come down to. I had so many great clients and wonderful shots this year. I wouldn't be here without good friends and this beautiful community! Thank you all so much for your love and support.
ENJOY! I know I do:)
